WHAT I TELL MY CHILD

You are great and awesome.

You were born loving, kind and generous.

If others try to tell you

otherwise - don't believe them.

You are not your mistakes.

We all make them and the only reason we do, is to learn from them.

I love you even if you don't do well at school

because knowing who you are is more important

in succeeding at living happy.

You are not your thoughts - you are their master.

If others try to hurt you, don't take it to heart.

It isn't about you but them taking their pain out on you.

Sometimes even if you do your best you may hurt another. Always say sorry.

Treat others the same way you wish to be treated by them,

even if you know they can't do the same for you.

Protect your boundaries - it is ok to feel angry.

It is not ok to hurt others out of anger, however.

Know that any emotion is just a temporary visitor.

Love you first.

Treat you with kindness and patience.

Putting you first isn't selfish but considerate and respectful.

Listen to you. It is ok to say 'no' to others and 'yes' to you.

No one is responsible for making you happy but yourself.

Thank you for reading. If my article contributed to understanding yourself, please be generous and share it with others.
